  • 8 slices whole grain bread
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 medium avocado (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup pickle slices
  • 1 medium cucumber (thinly sliced)
  • 2 medium tomatoes (sliced)
  • 1 carrot (grated)
  • 1 head romaine lettuce (rinsed and patted dry)
  • 4 ounces whipped cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives and dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine whipped cream cheese with chopped chives, dill, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth.
  2. Lay out slices of whole grain bread and spread the herbed cream cheese generously on both sides.
  3. On half of the slices, layer provolone cheese, avocado slices, pickle slices, cucumbers, tomato slices, grated carrot, and romaine lettuce.
  4. Top with remaining bread slices and gently press down.
  5. Slice diagonally to serve.
