- 8 slices whole grain bread
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 1 medium avocado (sliced)
- 1/2 cup pickle slices
- 1 medium cucumber (thinly sliced)
- 2 medium tomatoes (sliced)
- 1 carrot (grated)
- 1 head romaine lettuce (rinsed and patted dry)
- 4 ounces whipped cream cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped chives and dill
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a mixing bowl, combine whipped cream cheese with chopped chives, dill, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth.
- Lay out slices of whole grain bread and spread the herbed cream cheese generously on both sides.
- On half of the slices, layer provolone cheese, avocado slices, pickle slices, cucumbers, tomato slices, grated carrot, and romaine lettuce.
- Top with remaining bread slices and gently press down.
- Slice diagonally to serve.
