  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel bits
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until browned and fragrant. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled brown butter with dark brown sugar and granulated sugar; mix until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
