  • 1.5 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup store-bought or homemade salted caramel sauce
  • Sea salt flakes for sprinkling (to taste)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp whole milk or cream
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking pan.
  2. Cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until combined.
  5. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan; bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the baked base layer.
  7. Flatten remaining dough and place it on top of the caramel layer.
  8. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until golden brown and set.
  9. Cool completely before glazing with whipped powdered sugar, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla.
