2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
1¾ cups warm water (110°F/43°C)
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons kosher salt
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Proof the yeast: Combine warm water and sugar in a bowl; sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
Mix the dough: In a large mixing bowl, add flour, kosher salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir gently until a sticky dough forms.
First rise: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel; let it rise in a warm place for about 1–1½ hours or until doubled in size.
Dimple the dough: Transfer risen dough to an oiled baking pan (9×13 inches). Gently press dimples into the surface with your fingertips.
Add toppings: Sprinkle minced garlic and grated Parmesan over the dimples.
Second rise: Cover and let rise again for 20–30 minutes while preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).
