Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup butter, melted (for brownie dough)
  • 1 cup white sugar (for brownie dough)
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder (for brownie dough)
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour (for brownie dough)
  • ¼ tsp baking powder (for brownie dough)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine creamy peanut butter, softened butter, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add an egg and vanilla; mix well.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  3. For the brownie dough, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Mix in cocoa powder, then add an egg and vanilla until glossy. Fold in flour, baking powder, salt, and chocolate chips until no dry streaks remain.
  4. Chill both doughs for about 30 minutes to firm them up.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and scoop portions of each dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet side by side. Swirl together using a toothpick.
  6. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until tops are slightly crackly and edges are set.
