Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes per side. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  2. In the same skillet, whisk together flour and Italian seasoning; gradually add chicken broth until smooth. Stir in cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, lemon juice, onion powder, garlic powder, basil, oregano, mustard powder, and dried parsley to create the sauce.
  3. Return cooked chicken to the skillet and simmer on low heat for about 5-10 minutes until flavors meld and sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Serve over mashed or baked potatoes with steamed veggies.
