  • 1 demi baguette
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • Gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil
  • Balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Place mozzarella pearls in silicone skull molds on a baking sheet and bake for 6-7 minutes until melted; press down gently.
  3. Increase oven temperature to 475°F.
  4. Cut cherry tomatoes in half, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Roast for 10-15 minutes until soft.
  5. Slice baguette into ½-inch pieces, arrange on a baking sheet, and toast for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. Mix black gel food coloring into basil pesto until desired color is achieved.
  7. Spread black pesto on toasted baguette slices and return to the oven for another 8-10 minutes.
  8. Top each slice with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls; drizzle balsamic glaze before serving.
