  • ¼ c soy sauce
  • 3 T brown sugar
  • 1 c water, divided
  • 2 T honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated or minced)
  • 2 T corn starch
  • 1 T orange zest
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 c broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small onion (small diced)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, half a cup of water, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, corn starch, and orange zest. Set aside.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add diced onion; cook until translucent. Then add broccoli and shredded carrots; stir-fry for another 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce into the skillet and simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving over rice or noodles.
