  • 1 packet taco seasoning or 2 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 tostada shells
  • 1 cup refried beans (optional, for spreading on the shells)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa or pico de gallo
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté onion and garlic in a skillet until soft.
  2. Add ground beef, cooking until browned.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning, water, salt, and pepper; simmer until thickened.
  4. Heat refried beans if using.
