  • 34 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 23 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Freshly-ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli florets and sauté for 3-4 minutes until vibrant and tender-crisp. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add ground beef and minced garlic, cooking for 5-6 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Pour into the skillet with beef and cook for another 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Return broccoli to the skillet, toss to combine, and season with salt as needed.
