This delightful twist on the classic French Dip sandwich features savory layers of tender roast beef and melty Swiss cheese enveloped in buttery crescent roll dough.   • 2 cans of refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/2 pound deli-sliced roast beef
  • 1 cup grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (or alternative)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup beef broth (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray your baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Roll out one can of crescent rolls into the bottom of the baking dish, pressing seams together.
  3. Layer the deli-sliced roast beef evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with Swiss cheese.
  4. In a bowl, mix dry onion soup mix, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Drizzle this mixture over the cheese layer.
  5. Roll out the second can of crescent rolls over the filling, pinching seams to seal.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. While baking, heat beef broth in a small pot over medium heat for dipping.
  8. Allow cooling slightly before cutting into squares and serve with warm broth.
