  • 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup barley tea (substituted for Fireball)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Line a baking pan with parchment paper, allowing edges to extend over sides.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, mix butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, sweetened condensed milk, barley tea, and salt.
  3. Bring mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat until it reaches 246°F (firm ball stage). Avoid stirring during this time.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Carefully pour the caramel into the prepared pan and smooth out evenly.
  6. Allow to cool completely at room temperature for 2 to 4 hours.
  7. Once cooled, cut into squares and wrap individually in wax paper.
