  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter with granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and alternate adding dry ingredients with milk until combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in pans for ten minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
  7. For the caramel sauce, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until smooth.
  8. Layer the cakes with caramel sauce in between and drizzle additional sauce on top.
