Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 grams sirloin steak (or flank steak)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp apple vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 45 slices ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 stalk green onion
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp mushroom sauce
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Slice the onion, ginger, and green onions; mince the garlic.
  2. Thinly slice the beef against the grain. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, apple vinegar, water, and sesame oil. Marinate beef for about 15 minutes.
  3. Mix together low-sodium soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, mushroom sauce, sesame oil, and water in a small bowl to create the stir fry sauce.
  4. Heat oil in a wok over high heat and sear the marinated beef for about 2-4 minutes until nearly cooked through. Remove from heat.
  5. In the same wok, sauté ginger until fragrant; add garlic and onions until softened. Pour in the stir fry sauce and cook until slightly thickened.
  6. Return the beef to the wok with green onions; mix well before serving.
